Privacy Policy

Introduction

Civitas Marketing values its visitors’ privacy. This policy, effective July 10th, 2020, summarizes what information the agency might collect from a visitor as well as what will and will not be done with it.

Please note this policy does not govern the collection and use of information by companies that Civitas Marketing does not control, nor by individuals not employed or managed by Civitas Marketing.

User Information.

It is always up to the user whether to disclose personally identifiable information, although if they elect not to do so, Civitas reserves the right not to provide described services. Personally identifiable information is information that can be used to identify an individual, for example:

  • Name, company, email address, phone number, billing address and shipping address
  • Credit card information
  • Domain name and/or IP address
  • Session data

If an individual does provide personally identifiable information, either directly or through a business partner, Civitas:

  • Will take commercially reasonable precautions to protect the information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction
  • May use contact information to provide content or news about services and products or modifications to the Privacy Policy
  • Not sell or rent personal information to a third party

Civitas will not use or disclose personally identifiable information, except:

  • As necessary to provide services or products (for example, by providing it to a carrier to deliver products)
  • In other ways described in this privacy policy or in which the user has otherwise consented
  • Aggregated with other information in such a way so that an identity cannot reasonably be determined (for example, statistical compilations)
  • As required by law (for example, in response to a subpoena or search warrant)
  • To outside auditors who have agreed to keep the information confidential
  • As necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Civitas Marketing, its users, or others (for example, exchanging information with other organizations for fraud protection and/or risk reduction)

Other Information.

We may collect other information that cannot be readily used to identify a person (for example, the domain name and IP address of a user's computer). We may use this information, individually or in the aggregate, for technical administration of our website, research and development, customer administration and account administration.

External Data Storage.

We may store user data on servers provided by third-party hosting vendors with whom Civitas Marketing has legally contracted.

User Responsibilities.

To protect privacy, users should take customary precautions to guard against “malware” (viruses, Trojan horses, bots, etc.), by installing and updating suitable anti-virus software and practicing other safe browsing techniques.

Europe-Based Users.

Civitas Marketing‘s operations are located primarily in the United States. If a Europe-based user provides information, it will be transferred out of the European Union (EU) to the United States. By providing personal information, Europe-based users are consenting to its storage and use as described herein.

Child-Aged Users.

Users must be at least 13 years old to browse Civitas Marketing’s website and use its services. Civitas Marketing does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. (See the [U.S.] Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.)

Policy Changes.

Civitas Marketing reserves the right to change this privacy policy as necessary or appropriate due to legal compliance requirements or changes in our business practices. If a user has provided their email address, Civitas will endeavor to notify that user by email of any material change to how personally identifiable information is used.
