The full-time Business Development Manager works in tandem with the CEO and COO on new business initiative across all avenues of Civitas’ services. In this salaried role the Business Development Manager would actively work to strengthen our market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a proven background in media or marketing sales and passion for building quality relationships.

  • BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, business or related field.
  • 4+ years of business development experience in the marketing communications or professional services fields.
  • Ability to layout designed templates in Word, PPT and/or Keynote.
  • Attention to detail and love for creating positive business development experiences and relationships.
  • Able to maintain a positive, collaborative and results-oriented attitude under pressure.
  • Demonstrated success in business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead new business teams in the pitch process.
  • Excellent verbal, written, project management and presentation skills.
  • Assist in driving an appropriate business development process for each new business opportunity.
  • Support a culture of growth within the office.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and COO on strategy to improve win rate, ROI and other office/region-specific goals.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Civitas, relevant technical specialties and potential client needs.
  • Strong communications skills to effectively articulate ideas to colleagues, prospects and others.
  • Coordinate and communicate with business development needs across the network
  • Coordinate and deliver timely responses to leads as they come in.
  • Maintain data integrity of current pipeline opportunities.
  • Facilitate appropriate resources (research, creative, etc.) for all prospects and pitch opportunities
  • Organize and engage in brainstorms.
  • Communicates responses and pitch, while creating new content.
  • Manage the presentation process, from development to final product.
  • Work with the CEO and operations team after business is won to ensure rapid activation
  • Develop and implement a prospect database tracking systems.
  • Identifies target organizations and key prospects within each.
  • Ensure that the office maintains a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects.
